What I do

I help people and organisations work out what they are really trying to say — and why. That often involves slowing things down, listening carefully and separating what matters from what’s simply noise or habit.
How I work

I start by listening.
Whether I’m working with an individual, a team or a community, my first job is to understand what matters to them, what they’re trying to achieve, and where things feel stuck or unclear.

From there, I help shape ideas into clear messages, practical structures and confident delivery — drawing on editorial judgement, media craft and long experience of working in public-facing roles.

My work is collaborative, thoughtful and practical. It’s not about performance for its own sake, but about helping people communicate in a way that feels honest, purposeful and effective.
About me

I spent over 30 years at the BBC in senior editorial and training roles, including Head of Audio Training at the BBC Academy. I now work across media, culture and
the public sector.
Who I work with

I work with broadcasters and audio makers, artists and creative practitioners, cultural and public organisations, and community-led groups — particularly where people are working in public, speaking about their work, or navigating complex or sensitive conversations.
If you’re working through how to say something — or how to say it better — I’m happy to talk.
